Pain in the world

The world around us has of late begun to take on an air of constant turmoil. In all lands and among all classes we see a similar reality. Everyone is fighting. Fewer and fewer people can truly say that their lives are filled with peace, joy or prosperity. Why is it? At a time in human history when all things are available. When with the click of a button you can have food delivered to your door, books from the library, or even a car from some far off location. Humans today have more things, more money, more education, yet we see some of the most lonely people ever. People huddle in there homes and watch their televisions till the early hours of the night. They gather online to play video games in simulated group action. What are we doing? 

Why so much suffering? Why such loneliness? Where is the Joy of life? 

True Joy is obtained through giving. Giving of time, giving of assistance, giving of money. When we give to others we benefit ourselves. It can bring new found meaning to an empty existence..  The Bible tells us to Give is better than to receive. 

The word Happiness comes from the word Happen. "you happen to be Happy" 

It shows a present feeling due to present existing "happenings" in your life. 

example... You get a raise at work.. you get a front row parking spot at the crowed mall...

you feel Happy.  ..as you arrive home .. 

I present a second idea.. the word JOY.. springs up out of thanks giving. 

The Psalmist writes" Return unto me the Joy of my salvation, and renew a right spirit with in me. "  Joy.. from the word rejoice. Give thanks.. to be grateful.  

How can we help a world filled with pain? Bring Joy, the joy that no man/woman can take away. The Joy of Salvation. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
